Unlike regular bumper plates, they are made from recycled crumb rubber as opposed to high density virgin rubber and what you get is a softer bumper plate that is bouncier, quieter and offers excellent impact resistance. Due to its composition, they have a typically wider base width than your traditional bumper plate and the smaller diameter of the 5kg and 10kg helps to prevent plates from cracking when dropped with heavier 15kg, 20kg and 25kg plates.
